Our Japanese experience...

We had the privelege of hosting 2 Japanese students for a weekend
this summer..I didn't know about it for sure at first because we had never done
it before..but more than once God nudged
it that way and I'm glad He did.. It was a fun experience!! They were so fun
and such sweeeeet girls.. We picked them up at BV on Saturday morning..
All smiles:) They helped make pancakes and then later offered to make us a japanese meal..It was
really good actually..We swam during the day, enjoyed sno cones and then later celebrated
Abraham's 8th birthday..The first time they had ever hit pinatas..We really had to work on communicating..learning eachother's languages..but it was fun.
We learned a couple words in japanese...

July 4th :)

I've been busy so I'm a bit behind on blogging but let's see if I can catch up:) On July 3rd we checked out the cars and different things going on at sunset park and of course the foOD..We ate some delicous pupusas!! I love July 4th!! I've always loved that holiday.  I like going to the parade in the morning, eating lunch there, walking around the park all day and seeing what there is to do and just what everyone's up to..it's exciting for me!! Our town livens up on the 4th and then ending the day with the fireworks!! This year they ended up having the fireworks the night before:( Kinda bummed me out..but I guess that's just me..hehe. It was a great day! We had the privilege of being in the parade this year. There were two BVU students who gave their summer to being short term missionaries here in Storm Lake working with The Bridge. They worked on a float for the parade along with others who volunteered their help..They did an amazing job..and when the day came the float was full of all ages of kids! It was a bright and colorful float! We even won the 2011 Admirals award because quote "You're float won for most creative and energetic" and energetic it was! :) Everyone was very excited.. I sat on the float with many others while Renato walked along side and handed out water bottles..
Here are some pictures of July 4th with The Bridge!!!
