O ye of little faith...

This week has been a week to remember for many different reasons...a few of them happened yesterday.. 3 times out of nowhere we received big blessings!! Let me share how..While Renato was working pretty soon he called and said he had a suprise for me and when he came to pick me up he had a bag full of grocery items including meat, refried beans and lots of other things that a gentelman had given him..This man said that "God was telling me to give it to you, so here you go..go suprise your wife!"                                                                                                               Just outta nowhere..We never said a thing..Then a little while later another person gave us a couple more bags of pantry items as well as prepared food! 2 of these incidences in one day? We were just in awe! We needed a dryer for the longest time... It's been months that ours has completely pooped out on us but we didn't quite have the funds at the moment to buy one.It just hasn't quite worked out..We made a temporary clothes line outside..a rope hanging from one end of the fence to the other..lol.. we just didn't have the poles yet to make the actual one so this worked for now:) I always wanted a clothesline!! so this summer it's been fun hangin up laundry:) Well and then in the winter time though and when it's raining who's gonna hang clothes outside?? So a dryer was definitely a necessity.. Yesterday we were invited to a bbq! Delicious by the way! and this couple asked us if we would accept a gift?? and we look up..um yea sure..whaddya mean..not knowing exactly what to expect and then they said a washer and "dryer"..it was a little used and everything but if we were ok with that??..ding ding ding ding of course!!!!!!! we are!! we just need something that works..lol! Renato and me just looked at eachother and smiled. Couldn't believe it. This couple have no idea what a blessing they have been to us!! O ye of little faith.. Never expected any of these things and here we have them..God provides.. It was like God was saying hey check this out...I'm gonna take care of you guys..have Faith in ME!! We want to be faithful to Him..and whatever ministry He has planned for us! What blessings we received yesterday..We can't describe them in words..Thankyou!

Tommy Thiessen prepared a DELICIOUS disco of carne al pastor meat..mmm..it was good!

Felix and his family were the host of this night and he prepared some delicious marinated chicken on the grill as well!

Neighborhood Nights...

Each Wednesday evening throughout the summer, we will be organizing grill-outs in different neighborhoods through out Storm Lake as part of "The Bridge of Storm Lake", encouraging people to get to know their neighbors and enjoy a meal together..I'm a little behind but last week we had the first neighborhood night at our house..It was a great time! As we were handing out the inivitations the night before it was amazing to hear how many people just kept saying, "wow this is great, we really need to do more stuff like this around here, we need to get to know our neighbors better!" It was very encouraging how much they really want to get to know eachother. As well as all the people who are more than willing to be apart of these nights..More and more people are offering their help in many different ways..Volunteering and/or donating..God is definitely at work:) Thanks to you to all!! You are much appreciated! We had many volunteers that came out to either help grill or just mingle with the neighbors as well as donate supplies we needed for the night. We grilled "fajita preparada" meat and hot dogs. More and more neighbors kept coming.. I had to go inside a couple of times just to scream...eeee!! It was soOO exciting!!!  Last night was the second one and Melbin Jimenez hosted it...Another great turn out it was.. OUr town is so diverse it's amazing! So far on these nights we've represented..German, Mexican, Laotian, Micronesian, Honduran, El Salvadoran, American, Guatemalan and Sudanese.. Everyone mingling and visiting with everyone else. I just love ALL getting together, getting to know eachother, and learning about eachother:))) God has been so good!
